The Juan Bautista
Alberdi exhibition is a collection of over 100 images documenting
the achievements and success of this community project.
The purpose of the exhibition is to raise both awareness and funding
in order to help this community keep the school open and carry on
their plight to educate the children. The exhibition includes video
footage of the schools renovation in 2003, as well as video documentaries
made by and starring the children of the Alberdi School.
The exhibition takes place at the Bolívar Hall located in
the heart of London's West End. Owned by the Venezuelan
Embassy the Hall forms part of the Venezuelan cultural complex,
offering a programme of art exhibitions, music, film, theatre, as
well as literary and academic events. It is named after Simón
Bolívar, the political and military leader who liberated
Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia from the Spanish
rule in the first decades of the nineteenth century.
